Thank you to all you for last night, OMG that was stressful and I felt it today.But I just loaded the extras little bit left onto the new site, so LETS PLEASE go calmly to it from now on:) And I did talk to the server and WOW- he was impressed, we set off alarms and crashed them twice, well actually once because last night he said the alarm went off again and we hit our max load at about 6:28 ( right when I was hitting the live button on the cart ) so they shut us down ( because on saturday we didn’t just knock us off, my emails and my blog but every other business on my server I share- so whoops).So I don’t know how to feel, its great you are all here, and it does my heart glad, but he doesn’t even know where we go from here ,but they are all working on it, and what a great team they are. And how are we going to do our sales from now on? I don’t know. But it will work out, I have faith. But for now, so you don’t have to roam all over the site , what is available , oh and I bumped up a couple just because Bigcartel over sold a few things, but other then that did great ,so I might as well add a batch because I am not making just a few of the things on their own. Ok- so most of you know the server crashed last night 10 yes 10 minutes before we went live for the Halloween sale. I was panicking, Joe and Cherie from redlime, you guys were panicking, it was chaos. But it was the server , and we are back up now- YAHoo!and sorry for not answering, I also lost all email accounts and my blog until today, they are all on the same server. I am flooded with emails from last night and it will take me some time to go thru them. So please be patient , I am not ignoring anyone. But- I am waiting for a green light from redlime web, they are looking into what happened, its not redlime’s fault at all, its the server , and Joe from redlime is waiting what to hear what on earth happened last night , so we can go forward and enable the site to check out. So when I know, we can then go live, I don’t know if it will be tonight or tomorrow. I already have made plans previously with Curl and her partner to take them out to a Napa winery for all her hard work, and then dinner tonight, but what I am going to do is bring the lap top with me, and look for a Starbucks to plug into, and if I get the go ahead- I will post here and the forums _ or someone for me- and go live, if not tonight , then tomorrow.So I am so sorry for all if this , but it is out of my hands, and I am as anxious as you guys are. and Yes the dreaded unmentionable soap from the Scottish play has been removed- by the request of my DH, a lot of things have been going wonky everytime we deal with that soap, and it is ironic that it was a few minutes after I loaded it- all hell broke loose;)
hey guys, just wanted to pop by and let you know I have been working on the site all day, but I am really hurting, so its not done, buts its just the preview and we have a few more days until the sale, so it should all work out fine. I know a lot of people wanted to finish there wish lists today, so I do apologize that the collection is not complete yet.
I am disappointed I couldn’t finish in time, but I am just feeling so ill I can hardly sit here anymore today.
So I will make it live at 6:00 , then take a Mortrin and hopefully feel better after a nap and keep working tonight and tomorrow for sure .
All the Mabon was listed, graphics made, product made , packaged and shipped within three full days!
And I do believe we made a most excellent quality of product, if I do say sop myself:)
So what is my point? Can we be this fast if the volume is smaller??? What if we did that every four days or so, over and over, would more people get a chance to order?I am unsure, but it was a refreshing change from the dogpile I normally get. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutEly want orders and how I make my living, but its just the huge variety of products in each collection , all the art work involved, the scents alone have a large variety of components in most of them, they must be ordered or made from scratch and maintained, the product making , the ordering and maintaining of those ingredients themselves, the packaging , the packing and so on. As well as the GINORMOUS amount of orders to be made, sale after sale, and what makes the TAT get longer and longer and longer. I am missing the seasons myself , and I really have not had a real full day off in about three or fours years now and I am now feeling the need. Not to rest so much, although I should, I need more time from product and recipe creating, perfume creating, and to take a step back see where we are going , and to again~ create! I LOVE to create. I now have to create while I am making my current product of the day as well as in my sleep and wake up and write it down ( Curl has made me write them in a journal rather them keeping them all in my head).Its fantastic to have Curl around BTW, not only for her muscle in making Moopoo, but her brain to bounce off of, and her humor are all valuable assets, as well as a comfort to me.
So what is the point of this post? Well, its so late in the season and its my very favorite season , I think we should limit the variety and BOY howdy is that hard for me to do, I get so many ideas and start them months in advance its so hard to edit, but I must if I want to have a ghost ~ har , of a chance to make the orders in time for Halloween. So please don’t be disappointed if you don’t see the product you were hoping for, it will be coming again and soon, I want to keep the Halloween just Halloween items , and the regular fare coming after as well as Winter Holiday stuff.

I have know for years I needed a professional web site and cart , because a lot of the time is spent deciphering these orders via free and or cheap websites. AND I hate- hate- hate the look of commercial commerce sites, and so resisted. But things have grown so fast and furious I almost gave in, and I say almost~ cuz now I can have my cake and can eat it too!

I am also unsure of my ETSY shops future ( etsys back logs are a NIGHTMARE, and even this small Mabon sale had a lot of problems), I was going to make it my ready made gift store, but I would rather do it all on the moonalisa.com site, but don’t want a present getting buried in collection orders so I am unsure yet until I get used to the back logs on the new site, I may even use the bigcartel that way- don’t know…….
So there are bound to be some issues and kinks to be ironed out, so please bare with us while we make adjustments to the new site, but it is our new home and I say us, because I had in mind when Kira designed it an old magic shop feel, the arcane and the sacred . First off thank you all so much for your orders last night from the Mabon sale.and Sorry guys I just realized all the confusion I have been causing and thank you so much Airwinter for explaining to everyone, We have just been going so fast trying to catch up I have lagged on the info, This was a teeny Mabon sale to get Mabon items out by the holiday this Tuesday. I will most likely have more Mabon at the Halloween line up. The restock of the Rock a Billy, and its is going to be small as well , I normally bump up the stock so more can go around, but I can not do that this time because of Halloween is coming up fast and I am wayyy behind. and that will be on the bigcartel site because its already listed from last may and all I have to do is adjust the inventory. and Halloween, what can I say about Halloween, well all the samples I gave out will be in it for sure, and like I mentioned I am making a smaller variety so we can have a tight concise collection this year and get it out faster. and the preview will be on my site www.moonalisa.com as WELL as the sale- NOT big cartel. update- I am still packing and shipping, this weekend I found a couple of multiple orders that did NOT have their entire order printed and pulled, so I had to make a few more simply things to finish up , but it took some time and I seem have a really bad habit of under estimating how much time it takes me to pack. I so wanted the left overs and Mabon up already , but not until all these are out.
But Curl is on her way and hub is home so I am making them help me pack even tho they both hate to- too bad:) ( Dh grumbles in the background)
So hopefully we can finish up today, I will try my very best to finish and give another update later,
and please < don’t feel offended if you are towards the end, its either because something is still in the order being determined if its done or not ,or its of GINORMOUS proportion, and a lot of the times its because you either expressed you are willing to wait, or you have a little extra something I need to do to your order, , or we know each other well enough to know its ok to be towards the end, and I tend to treat the ones I am closest too by making them wait longer, I have no idea why that is.
